Statement from the SPARK Network
As some of you may know, SPARK’s core funding from East Sussex County Council ended in September 2016. In these difficult times, despite our best efforts over the last 12 months, we have not been able to secure sufficient funding to continue providing infrastructure support to young people’s groups in East Sussex. The SPARK Board has therefore made the difficult decision to close down the organisation at the end of March 2017.
Over the next three months we will work closely with our Council for Voluntary Service (CVS) colleagues to ensure that all our members will have contact and support from their local CVS. During this time we will also signpost sources of funding, training and information from both regional and national organisations.
We would like to thank everyone who has supported SPARK over the years – especially our dedicated member groups and their inspiring young people, on behalf of whom it has been a privilege to work.

A network for young people’s organisations, SPARK supports, connects and celebrates voluntary and community groups who are improving the lives of children and young people aged 0–19 in East Sussex.
They are a charity with a membership of more than 200 groups ranging from uniformed organisations to local youth clubs. They are free to join and give advice on both setting up and running your group so that you can do what you do best – focus on working with young people.
