YES East Sussex
Through YES there is a dedicated Adviser supporting eligible young people with Special Education Needs. This Adviser encourages schools and colleges to support the transition of students in Year 11-14 with SEN Additional Support Plans. This dedicated Adviser can support young people who are NEET or at risk of becoming NEET and who may not have triggered the completion of an Education Health Care Plan.
YES East Sussex is the new targeted information, advice and guidance (IAG) service for 16-18 year olds. Commissioned by East Sussex County Council and delivered by Medway Youth Trust the service went live on 1st October 2013.
YES East Sussex provides impartial targeted IAG to meet specific and sometimes complex needs of young people. YES East Sussex works with some of the most vulnerable and disengaged from young people in the county to break down barriers to participating in learning, training and employment with training.
YES East Sussex will, where appropriate deliver 1:1 support over a prolonged period of time. YES East Sussex will receive referrals from agencies, parents and young people but it will also proactively seek out and engage young people.
YES East Sussex have a Youth Forum and actively encourage young people to become a part of the Service.
We will also deliver from community settings in Crowborough, Eastbourne, Bexhill and Newhaven.
